Boxing legend Muhammad Ali placed on life support in hospital
The boxing legend, 74, was rushed to a hospital in the Phoenix area yesterday after being found at home ‘barely breathing’, according to Radar Online.
He is relying on medical help to breathe and his family have rushed to his bedside.
An insider told Radar: “Doctors are telling the family that it likely won’t be long until he passes away.”
Ali’s breathing problem has been complicated by the Parkinson's that he was diagnosed with in 1984 after he retired from professional boxing after decades in the ring.
He is regarded as one of the greatest sportspeople ever to have lived.
Ali became the first boxer to become a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
In total he won 56 of his 61 fights, including 37 knock-outs, before retiring in 1981.
